eBay HK currently has the following vacancies:
Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager Post date: 26 Feb 2009

This role will be responsible for:

  • developing sellers to list on eBay's global platform
  • meeting target numbers through analyzing our business and planning programs to grow trading activities on eBay
  • budgeting, planning and implementing programs and partnerships to develop our seller base in Hong Kong
  • providing a vital communication link between eBay and international functions through weekly conference calls, quarterly business reviews and international meetings

On-going job responsibilities include:

  • Development of our online trading business: eBay Marketplace
  • Ensure eBay HK business objectives are met through market analysis, project planning and execution
  • Develop strategies and initiatives to grow our base of sellers and sales activity
  • Working with our Customer Service teams to manage key accounts
  • Develop and manage service providers and external partners
  • Working closely with international and cross functional teams for business development and best practice sharing

Job Requirements :

  • At least 8 years of international retail or business development experience in the consumer goods industry, with progressively increasing management responsibility, preferably gained from MNCs in FMCG retail industry or management consulting
  • BA degree in business or related disciplines, with an MBA highly preferred
  • Demonstrated strategic orientation and tactical business sense, and a track record of building new businesses and brands within highly competitive and fast-paced markets
  • Should be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of the internet market, from both a consumer and trade view, and have an understanding of the industry structure and its dynamics
  • Outstanding leadership and communication skills, creativity, strategic thinking and attention to details are Perquisites
  • Cheerful and outgoing, socially at ease in a mixture of environments, and capable of analyzing and presenting business cases at an international level
  • Must be bottom-line driven, pragmatic, objective and detailed in ensuring thorough implementation, with the capacity to work within a changing business environment under pressure
    1. Self motivated, results oriented, energetic and team player
    2. Strong passion and working knowledge of how eBay works from both a buyer and seller perspective
  • Fluency in Chinese (Cantonese) and English, both written and oral is a pre-requisite. Fluency in Mandarin preferred
